Sustainable Manufacturing |
---|
The modern world is a manufactured one. Everywhere one can see the fruits of manufacturing endeavour—and it is a sector that is destroying our planet. What is more, circumstances can only get worse, as that part of the globe which is called the developing world, rapidly follows the industrialised nations, copying their unsustainable production and consumption. Something needs to change, and radically. The chance of this happening however, without significant external interventions, is fairly small—we are, after all, talking about a very conservative and traditional sector that, on the whole, has been struggling to cope with competitive conditions for decades. What therefore can to be done? This, and other relevant matters, will be considered in the content of these web pages (in due course).
